Bernard E. Flederbach who was born Jul. 14, 1925 and died January 6th 2007 at his home , Morristown
Hamblen County Tennessee, USA, after an extended illness.
Bernard was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for 35 years where he enjoyed serving as an usher.
He was also active in the Knights of Columbus.
Bernard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following the war he continued to serve as a recruiter in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he was in insurance sales in West Virginia and East Tennessee.
After retiring from the insurance business, Bernard enjoyed working at Dollywood for thirteen years.
Patricia and Bernie were married for over 50 years and had two beloved daughters, Catherine Lee Flederbach and Maureen
Maureen married Lynn Roddy of Knoxville and had 2 girls, Catherine and Erin Roddy.
At the time of Bernie’s death his sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and George Hoeflein lived in Endicott, NY.
His brother, Robert Flederbach of Holly Springs, NC;
His sister, Mary and husband Larry Bridge lived in Endwell, NY;
His sisters-in-law, Rose Flederbach of Vestal, NY and Mary Ellen Resen of El Paso, TX and many nieces and nephews.
Bernies patience, love, and exuberance for life will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 12 2007, from 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary to follow. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church with The Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, Bishop of the Diocese of Knoxville, officiating with the Rev. Patrick Garrity and the Rev. Mr. W. Patrick Resen assisting.
